Hi friends!  And welcome to Base Camp: Savannah!

When I launched this program in the summer of 2015, I had no idea the impact it would make on a region that I love so dearly.

2017 was an incredible year in Savannah.  A record-number of teams came together to create films for the 48 Hour Film Competition, so many new production teams began filming short films for the festival circuit and productions shooting in Savannah cast the highest number of local actors in the history of Savannah's film industry.

We MUST continue to develop that talent as so much work is hitting Savannah.  It's an incredibly small market - but a lot of major work is coming to the area.  BE PREPARED.  BE READY TO PLAY.

YOU CREATE YOUR OWN OPPORTUNITES.  YOU.  AND ONLY YOU.

WINTER CYCLE 2018: ACTING FOR CAMERA
"The List and Substitutions"
Taught by Chad Darnell
4 Sundays: Feb 4, 18, 24 and March 4th - 3 PM - 7 PM

Location TBD - (Victorian District Savannah)
Cost: $125 - class size limited.

Open to anyone (newbies or anyone wanting a refresher!)  ages 15 and older.

Last fall, the On-Camera Acting Cycle focused on Script Analysis and Character Development, specifically making choices.

For the Winter Cycle, we will be looking at two specific aspects of performance: "The List" and "Substitution."

Week One: Participants will be given a scene a week before the class to prepare and present at the beginning of class.  After critique, we will explore creating a history and backstory of a character for performance.

Week Two: Participants will present the same scene again, but from notes given in class and character journals will be discussed.

Week Three: Participants will be given a scene a week before class to prepare and present at the beginning of class.  After critique, we will discuss substitutions actors use to tap into memory as a resource to represent the needs to express your scene objective.

Week Four: Participants will present the same scene again, but from notes given in class and substitution choices will be discussed.
